It's and what better way to celebrate all things sandy with a wonderful image from our planning collection, showing Redcar beach taken on 22nd August 1968. Today's seafront has certainly changed with no iconic Rea's icecream parlour but there are now are new buildings to admire including the Beacon along with the much loved Regent cinema, still entertaining us in its unique beachside setting . Anyone for a donkey ride?

Today is the wonderful Love Local Fair at Ormesby Hall and the archives are delighted to be back, sharing a stall with the Cleveland and Teesside Local History Society! Come say hello and look at a sample of the incredible Pennyman Collection that we hold in the archives or colour in and name your very own police horse to mark the recent history of the hall stables.
