Autism acceptance cannot end where profound autism begins.

Over the past few days we've been reading the incredibly powerful words of autism advocate Ruby (), and they stopped us in our tracks.

At The Glowsticks Project, we support autistic people with an incredibly wide range of strengths, needs and support requirements. Some communicate with words, some don't. Some need a little support, while others need intensive, specialist support to safely access their community.

We firmly believe these conversations matter.

When support breaks down, the answer is not exclusion.

The answer is better support.
Better trained staff. Better funded services. Better understanding. Better planning. Better safeguarding.

Inclusion should never depend on how "easy" someone is to support.
Every autistic person deserves dignity. Every autistic person deserves opportunities. Every autistic person deserves to belong in their community.

As a charity, we know that true inclusion isn't pretending everyone's needs are the same. It's recognising that some people need significantly more support—and making sure that support exists.

Because everyone deserves to experience cafés, parks, holidays, employment, friendships and community.

Not because they're "safe enough."
Because they're human.

It’s the last after school session of the school year!

The school holidays are looming and the kids are all itching to relax and play. So why not bring them along to our next Lego group this Tuesday 14th July?

Booking in advance is essential and we ask that you book no later than 11am on the day of the group so that our catering team have plenty of notice for the sandwiches.

Lego will be running throughout the summer on alternate Tuesday afternoons

Looking for a fun, safe, and inclusive place for your child, young person and adult this summer?

Join us at The Glowsticks Project for 6 weeks of exciting holiday groups, where children, young people and adults of all ages and abilities are welcome.

We’re a supportive environment where every child/young person and adult can be themselves, have fun, and feel they truly belong.

From creative crafts and messy play to games, themed activities, sensory experiences, and making new friends, every session is packed with opportunities to laugh, learn, and make unforgettable summer memories with The Glowsticks Project Events Team.

We've had an amazing time crafting, playing games, baking, and, most importantly, creating a welcoming space where young people can make new friends, try new things, and build their confidence.
