Thank you to Neville Funerals who donated 71 pacemakers and cardiac devices to Pace4Life in 2025! These devices were carefully reconditioned for patients in need overseas or were responsibly recycled to reduce waste.

We are always grateful for donations of pacemakers. If you can help, please find out more by visiting: https://heartrhythmalliance.org/aa/uk/programs/pace4life/donating-cardiac-devices

💚 Giving medical devices a second life 💚🌍

As part of our 150th anniversary year, we’ve been celebrating everything that makes Neville Funerals special — and that includes the work we do behind the scenes to support others.

Each year, we recover and donate used hearing aids and pacemakers to charities that refurbish and redistribute them to people in need around the world 🌐 — helping reduce waste and improve lives.

✨ From January to July 2025 alone, we’ve donated:
✔️ 244 hearing aids to Hearing Aid Recycling — already beating last year’s total of 103!
✔️ 71 pacemakers to Pace4Life

These life-changing devices would otherwise end up in landfill. Instead, they’re now helping people — including children and adults who wouldn’t otherwise have access to vital hearing or heart support.

Did you know over 40 million children around the world don’t have access to hearing services? It’s a figure that really puts the impact into perspective.

We’re incredibly proud to be part of something that brings health, hope and sustainability together.

Stay tuned — we’ll be sharing our full 2025 totals next month!

In November, Pace4Life was able to help support the Leeds Teaching Hospitals as they sent Trust colleagues to Karen, Kenya on a teaching mission by providing devices and other resources. The team is back, and they were able to complete seven pacemaker implants (five complex and two simple) and ablation treatment for abnormal and irregular heart rhythms at the Karen Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.

Dr Tayebjee (consultant cardiologist), Zara Campbell (highly specialised cardiac physiologist) and Nicola Hill (chief cardiac physiologist) visited Kenya last month. The team was able to help set up the local team’s equipment, provided hands on training and were able to provide specialist opinions for a number of patients. Patients have poor access to many cardiac treatments in large parts of Africa as there is a lack of expertise and technology is costly.

With your support, we can continue to deliver vital cardiac care and training where it is needed most. Donate today or learn more about how Pace4Life is improving access to heart care around the world: https://loom.ly/kSvwI9o
