At the Old Course in St Andrews, caddies are more than just assistants – they are seasoned guides who navigate players through one of the most historic and challenging golf courses in the world.
With intimate knowledge passed down through generations, these caddies help golfers
of all levels master the Championship venue, offering insights into its rich history and unique layout. Whether it’s their advice on tricky holes or tips on playing in unpredictable conditions their expertise is invaluable.
Golf has been played at St Andrews for around 600 years, and for nearly as long, caddies have been a part of the tradition. This land, known as the “Links,” provides seven courses, 13 associated golf clubs, and hosts the famous
Open Championship every five years.
In a special series, we introduce six of the most experienced caddies at the Old Course. Through short interviews, they share their personal stories, golfing tips, and memorable experiences. To watch their interviews, scan the QR code or follow the link below for access to the videos, as well as further information about upcoming events and exhibitions.
