Outdoor Fun & Spring Adventures ๐ฟ
Weโve been making the most of the brighter weather and spending lots of time outdoors enjoying all the garden and local surroundings have to offer ๐ผ
In the garden, the children have loved free play with scooters, slides, and water playโkeeping active while having lots of fun! These activities help develop gross motor skills, balance, and coordination, as well as building confidence in their physical abilities ๐ฆ
Water play has also been a big favourite, encouraging sensory exploration, problem-solving, and early understanding of concepts like pouring, filling, and volume.
Weโve also been out exploring different parks and going on lovely walks to feed the ducks ๐ฆ This supports the childrenโs understanding of the world around them, encourages curiosity about nature and animals, and promotes physical health and wellbeing.
Outdoor play also provides great opportunities for social interactionโsharing, turn-taking, and building friendshipsโas well as supporting communication and language development through conversations and new experiences.
Itโs been so nice to enjoy the fresh air, stay active, and learn through play in the natural environment ๐ณ๐

๐ธ Spring Activities & Learning Through Play ๐ธ
Weโve been making the most of the lovely spring theme with lots of hands-on, creative activities this week! ๐ผ๐
The children enjoyed creating their own sheep using paper plates, cotton wool, and glueโgreat for encouraging creativity while developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
We explored painting using bright spring colours, giving the children the freedom to express themselves while learning about seasonal changes and colour recognition ๐จ
Our finger painting fine motor sheets were a big hit too! These help strengthen little hands and fingers, supporting early writing skills in a fun and engaging way.
We also made beautiful butterfly handprints and handprint flowers ๐ฆ๐ทโa lovely sensory experience that supports creativity, body awareness, and confidence.
To finish, we had some farm animal small world play, encouraging imaginative play, storytelling, language development, and social interaction ๐๐
Itโs been a week full of fun, creativity, and lots of learning through play ๐
