The children carefully used their fingers to print blossom onto the dots on the trees, helping to develop hand-eye coordination, concentration and control of small movements. They loved exploring the paint and watching their trees come to life with colour!

This activity supports:
๐ŸŒŸ Fine motor skill development
๐ŸŒŸ Hand-eye coordination
๐ŸŒŸ Concentration and focus
๐ŸŒŸ Colour recognition

Outdoor Fun & Spring Adventures ๐ŸŒฟ

Weโ€™ve been making the most of the brighter weather and spending lots of time outdoors enjoying all the garden and local surroundings have to offer ๐ŸŒผ

In the garden, the children have loved free play with scooters, slides, and water playโ€”keeping active while having lots of fun! These activities help develop gross motor skills, balance, and coordination, as well as building confidence in their physical abilities ๐Ÿ’ฆ

Water play has also been a big favourite, encouraging sensory exploration, problem-solving, and early understanding of concepts like pouring, filling, and volume.

Weโ€™ve also been out exploring different parks and going on lovely walks to feed the ducks ๐Ÿฆ† This supports the childrenโ€™s understanding of the world around them, encourages curiosity about nature and animals, and promotes physical health and wellbeing.

Outdoor play also provides great opportunities for social interactionโ€”sharing, turn-taking, and building friendshipsโ€”as well as supporting communication and language development through conversations and new experiences.

Itโ€™s been so nice to enjoy the fresh air, stay active, and learn through play in the natural environment ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŒธ Spring Activities & Learning Through Play ๐ŸŒธ

Weโ€™ve been making the most of the lovely spring theme with lots of hands-on, creative activities this week! ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿ‘

The children enjoyed creating their own sheep using paper plates, cotton wool, and glueโ€”great for encouraging creativity while developing fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

We explored painting using bright spring colours, giving the children the freedom to express themselves while learning about seasonal changes and colour recognition ๐ŸŽจ

Our finger painting fine motor sheets were a big hit too! These help strengthen little hands and fingers, supporting early writing skills in a fun and engaging way.

We also made beautiful butterfly handprints and handprint flowers ๐Ÿฆ‹๐ŸŒทโ€”a lovely sensory experience that supports creativity, body awareness, and confidence.

To finish, we had some farm animal small world play, encouraging imaginative play, storytelling, language development, and social interaction ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ–

Itโ€™s been a week full of fun, creativity, and lots of learning through play ๐Ÿ’›
