No gigs for me this weekend 😐

No singing for me tonight as Covid has reared its ugly head and bitten me on the bum for the 4th time 🤧😷. I managed to line up a replacement singer but when I phoned the party organiser she told me that half the party guests had come down with it too 🦠 so a replacement wasn't necessary 😧😯 and instead they'd manage with karaoke. The party was already postponed from last week as the organiser had had Covid then. What a pity all round 😔. So it's more rest, ginger, lime, honey and pineapple today....

Saturday's James Bond themed party at York Manor Care Home in York to celebrate their first birthday was more glamorous than I was expecting! There was bubbly, props, cake, and even a red carpet and all the guests were well-dressed - some of them in fancy dress. And then there was me - singing 45 minutes' of the best theme songs from the James Bond films with a few trivia questions thrown in between the songs (such as "what did Sean Connery wear in all his films?" and "what did Roger Moore require a body double for?"). I'd love to have stayed and chatted afterwards but I had to pack up my gear in super-quick time to drive to Howden for another gig that night!
