â You are not overstepping by asking about your childâs progress. Youâre stepping up.
That quick email, that question youâve been holding back, that feeling in your gut that somethingâs off⌠itâs worth speaking up.
Youâre not being a âdifficult parent.â Youâre being an involved one.
Open, respectful communication with teachers isnât just helpfulâitâs your right. And it can make a world of difference for your child. đŹâ¨
Here are a few tips to build that relationship in order to build the team you want around your child:
đŹ Open the door early. Send a quick hello at the beginning of the school year. A small intro can lead to better communication down the line.
đ Ask questionsâbig or small. Youâre not being overbearing. Youâre being involved. And thatâs powerful.
đ¤ Build a team mindset. Think of the teacher as part of your villageâyouâre all here for your child.
đ Stay curious & stay informed. Read the school emails, check in on platforms, and donât be afraid to follow up.
đ Advocate, always. If something doesnât feel right, speak up. Respectfully, calmlyâbut firmly. Youâre your childâs biggest supporter.
Let this be your reminder: You belong in the conversation.
Your childâs education is a shared spaceâand your presence matters.
⨠Do you have a good relationship with your childâs teacher?
What things have worked for you when it comes to communication?
Iâd love to hear whatâs helped you feel connected. đŹđ
