The 17th Century saw the assembling of large regular armies equipped and supplied by the state. Many units, though not all, were uniformly attired for the first time, and formed into companies and regiments then finally brigaded together into tercios or battalias.
Formations on the field could vary enormously as the situation dictated. On paper, a regiment may have ten companies of 100 men each but in reality, due to sickness, casualties and lack of money, regiments could be as small. The norm was to have two equal ‘wings’ of musketeers on the flanks and a central block of pikemen armed with sharp 16 foot ash pikes. While the slow-firing musketeers whittled down the enemy, the pikes’ primary role was to provide them with protection from cavalry.

Tommysan sent in these gorgeous Winter Fallschirmjäger.
They've used a really simple scheme of base coats and washes, but the extra details such as the chipping on the helmets really makes them pop!

So here we are – the third new Special Platoon for Konflikt ‘47 has landed, giving players another way to organise their forces.
Just like the Totenrotte and Firefly Platoons, the new British Commonwealth Automated Platoon supplements the mandatory Assault Platoon, so taking one gives you access to up to one each of the other platoons. And, like those other new platoons, it allows players to tailor their forces to specific playstyles, while really leaning into the character of the faction. It also comes with special rules, new units, and some updates to existing ones. There’s lots to unpack here, so let’s get started!
