🌡️ Extreme heat is a workplace issue.

As temperatures rise, so do the risks.

Heat stress, dehydration, sunburn, heat stroke and fatigue can all lead to serious illness, accidents and injuries—whether you work indoors or outdoors.

Employers have a legal duty to assess and manage these risks by providing:

✅ Regular breaks
✅ Access to cold drinking water
✅ Suitable clothing and PPE
✅ Shade for outdoor workers
✅ Good ventilation and cooling indoors

Know the signs of heat-related illness: dizziness, headaches, muscle cramps, nausea, confusion and excessive fatigue. If temperatures are affecting your health and safety at work, raise it with your manager, safety rep or union representative.
