MH Climate Actions
A Green Initiative By Muslim Hands worldwide The plan would identify specific measures needed to help communities adapt to the impacts of climate change.
Nature is our strongest ally in the fight against climate change. From forests and wetlands to botanical gardens, healthy ecosystems absorb carbon, protect biodiversity, and build resilience against climate impacts. Protecting nature means protecting our future.

Access to clean water is one of the greatest challenges facing vulnerable communities around the world, and climate change is making this crisis even worse. Rising temperatures, prolonged droughts, and unpredictable rainfall patterns are reducing water availability, leaving millions of people struggling to meet their daily needs.
Through this Deep Borehole Water Project in Mali, Muslim Hands is helping communities gain reliable access to safe and clean drinking water. What was once a daily struggle of walking long distances in search of water is now transformed into an opportunity for healthier lives, improved sanitation, and greater resilience against climate-related challenges.
Clean water is more than a basic necessity it is a foundation for health, education, livelihoods, and sustainable development. According to the United Nations, over 2 billion people worldwide still lack access to safely managed drinking water, while climate change continues to intensify water scarcity in many regions. By investing in sustainable water infrastructure, we are not only addressing immediate humanitarian needs but also helping communities adapt to a changing climate.
At MH Climate Action, we recognize that climate resilience begins with ensuring access to essential resources. Projects like these boreholes help communities withstand droughts, reduce vulnerability to climate shocks, and create a pathway toward a more sustainable future.
Every drop of clean water delivered is a step toward stronger, healthier, and climate-resilient communities. Together, we can turn the tide on water scarcity and ensure that no one is left behind.

As climate change continues to intensify extreme weather events across Pakistan, strengthening community awareness and preparedness has become more important than ever. To support climate-resilient development, Muslim Hands, in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP), successfully conducted a two-day training on โUnderstanding Climate Risksโ in Shangla, Swat, under the Green Climate Fund (GCF)-funded project.
The training brought together 50 participants from 14 village committees across Union Councils Pir Abad and Pir Khana, providing them with practical knowledge on climate risks, community resilience, disaster preparedness, and climate adaptation measures. Through interactive discussions and learning sessions, participants gained a deeper understanding of how climate change is affecting their communities and explored strategies to reduce vulnerabilities and strengthen local resilience.
Under MH Climate Action, empowering communities with knowledge is a vital step toward creating sustainable and climate-resilient futures. By equipping local leaders and community members with the tools to identify, assess, and respond to climate-related challenges, we are helping communities become better prepared for floods, landslides, changing weather patterns, and other climate-induced risks.
The closing ceremony was attended by government officials, Village Council Secretaries, and representatives from the World Food Programme and Muslim Hands. Certificates were awarded to participants in recognition of their commitment to becoming climate champions within their communities.
Together, we are investing in local capacity, promoting climate adaptation, and building stronger, safer, and more resilient communities for future generations.
