Dear All,

With the closure of the schools and so many people being isolated, we are going to start running online lessons every weekday afternoon from 2:00 - 2:50 (starting from tomorrow Monday).

How Much Will They Cost?
If you pay for the group lessons in Maths, English or Science, your child can attend the relevant subject lessons for free. Eg. If they normally attend Maths group lessons, the online Maths lessons will be free for you.

The first week will be a trial to iron out any technological issues and make sure students can access the learning easily and effectively. Only students who attend group lessons at the moment will be able to attend these online lessons. Once we have completed the trial successfully, we will open up these lessons to other students.

After the trial, we are looking to increase the number of online lessons we run, and there will be a charge to attend these lessons if you don't already pay for the group lessons. They will remain free for existing group students. We will provide more details of costs and timetables once the trial is complete.

Do We Need To Sign Up For These Lessons?
Places in these lessons will be limited. They will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. If you wish your child to take part in these trial lessons, please reply to this email saying which days you want to child to attend.

What Does My Child Need To Access The Lessons?
In order to take part, your child will need:
A desk with a computer (ideally one with a we**am - a laptop would be perfect). A we**am/microphone is not required, but it will help a lot (they will be able to speak to the teacher rather than typing questions).
An internet connection
All their usual school equipment (paper, pencil case, etc.)
How Does the Technology Side Work?
We will be using a platform called Zoom to provide video conferencing between the teacher and the students. The students will be able to see and hear the teacher, and the teacher will be able to see and hear the students.

This will require them to install a small piece of software that will enable them to connect to the lesson. No other software is required. If they have any trouble connecting, they should ring us on 0115 8240466 and we will help them to get going.
