Every year on 2 February, France celebrates Candlemas. Traditionally, it marks the presentation of baby Jesus and the purification of the Virgin Mary, and symbolises light and hope as winter begins to fade.
In France, this celebration is known as ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ๐๐ฟ, and families mark the day by enjoying delicious crรชpes โ sweet or savoury โ often accompanied by cider, traditionally served in a small round bowl rather than a glass.
Itโs a lovely example of how food, culture, and tradition are beautifully woven into language learning.
