Good - Life Farming

Sorry, sorry, sorry! I’ve been absolutely useless on here this weekend, but it’s actually been a massive weekend for the Good-Life Farming family.

We’ve had food demonstrations galore!

Farmer D was at Scone Palace Garden Fair on Friday and Saturday, where I was also busy coordinating the Perth Farmers' Market area, including the cookery theatre and demonstration programme. It was fantastic to see talented chefs showcasing produce from the traders.

On Friday, Sarah Rankin Cooks used our Rose Veal escalopes in her demonstration, creating a delicious dish and introducing even more people to our produce.

On Saturday, Fraser Bell from 63 Tay Street used both our Rose Veal and Rare Breed Pork in two of the six dishes he showcased. He served our Rose Veal brisket with macaroni cheese – not a combination we’d ever thought of, but it looked and tasted incredible! He also gave us all some inspiration for Taco Tuesday with Rare Breed Pork tacos made using hot honey from Cloverlea Apiaries -'The Friendly Bee Company'. We’re seriously considering that one as a future street food special. Definitely food for thought… see what I did there?

Meanwhile, over in Livingston, Betsy Anderson chose our Rare Breed Pork mince for her demonstration at the West Lothian Producers Market.

Needless to say, between all the demonstrations we now have no pork mince or Rose Veal brisket left!

We are beyond proud that our produce was selected by these talented chefs and demonstrators. They all did a fantastic job of showcasing what local producers can offer, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support.

A huge thank you to Sarah, Fraser and Betsy, and to everyone who came along to watch, taste, ask questions and support local producers this weekend. What a weekend it’s been! 🐷🐄🍴👏

West Lothian… we are coming for you this weekend! 🎉🐖

We’ll be at the West Lothian Producers Market on BOTH Saturday and Sunday this month and we are bringing all the good stuff with us.

Our Rare Breed Pork has been chosen for one of the demo’s in the demo kitchen on Saturday, so make sure you pop along and see it being put to very good use! 👨‍🍳🔥

As always, we’ll also be firing up the trusty trailer and cooking our own meat all weekend because apparently we like to keep ourselves busy! 😅

And to completely spoil you all, we’ll have BOTH veal and pork available this weekend. Whether you’re stocking the freezer, planning the BBQ or just fancy something tasty for dinner, we’ve got you covered.

Wow, what a day yesterday!

Farmer D and the girls had an amazing time at Fife Show. Everyone was in high spirits and so many familiar faces popped by for a catch up and to see us. Every purchase and order placed yesterday is hugely appreciated — we are so grateful for all the support.

Meanwhile, I was at Kinross with the trailer and Daddy dear. As someone pointed out to us at the end of the day, “Every time I looked over, you were queued!” …and honestly, that sounds about right! We were incredibly well supported there too and had another amazing day.

So, a massive thank you to every single one of you who came along, stopped for a chat, bought from us, or supported us in any way. It truly means the world.
