A few days on a SSSI near Pencoed. Some gate repairs and installation (no pics 🤦♂️). Also clearing back some of the overhanging branches on fences and replacing the worst posts with new ones. I love Blackthorn and Holly 🤬
Loads of butterflies around and serenaded by the gorgeous bird songs all day 😊
Lots of Heath spotted Orchids waiting to flower.

A few days clearing back Gorse and other invasive scrub from grassland at Cwm Tips, Beddau for Glo i Natur CIC. Opening up part of the grassland to help save the Small Blue butterfly and other wildlife that thrive on these coal spoil sites.
23/12/2025
Another 5 and a half weeks of scrub notching done. This time at Crymlyn Bog NNR for LIFEquake. Been very wet there at times but nice to finish the last 2 days with some dry weather.
Looking forward to putting the chest waders away and working on dry land in the New Year, lovely dry sand at Merthyr Mawr 😎
