✨🧱 Before Poole Pottery became famous for ceramics, there were tiles… and what tiles they were. 🧱✨

🏬 Our in-store tile stand is a little nod to the remarkable story of Carter’s Tiles — the forerunner to Poole Pottery and one of Dorset’s great creative industries.

🐬 Founded in the 1870s, Carter’s Tiles became known for beautiful decorative ceramics and practical tiles that found homes locally and far beyond Poole.
🚂 Many of their original designs can still be seen around the Quay today, while their craftsmanship also reached royal commissions and even parts of the London train and Underground stations.
👑🚇 A testament to Poole’s artistic heritage.

🌟 Here at Studio Poole, you can browse and buy a selection of tiles inspired by that tradition — you might be lucky and find some original Carter’s tiles, alongside other decorative and collectable pieces for the home. ✨
