Genius Ideas

It's been a long time but Genius Ideas are finally back onsite at The Rising Sun Arts Centre working on a new project! We have all missed it something terrible and can't wait to show you all what it will be. Clue, it's Halloween related.
Also if you are interested in taking part we are always happy for new volunteers, just message and we will let you know when we are meeting next.

One more team member has shared some of their work with us, this week it's Rory who maybe did the most exiting thing during lockdown i.e got a puppy!! We are obviously using this adorable creature as a base for Bob's future dog.
He has also done some really impressive lino prints of Van Morrison, TV Smith and black boots

Throwback Thursday to when we drove a Viking/dragon/castle ship around parts of Reading

Here is a throwback to last years Here Come the Sun where Bob became a giant fairy with a freshly made flower crown and beautiful sheer wings

Due to Covid the team sadly isn't building anything big at the moment but being the people we are lockdown has not slowed down our desire to make things , we've just had to adjust to smaller things we can do at home. It occurred to us that maybe we could do some posts showing what we've been making :)
Starting with Julie who when she wasn't able to go to France decided to bring France to her! And during some downtime she also took up embroidery (with some help from her cat).

Today should have been Here Comes The Sun Festival, one of Genius Ideas favourite days of the year. Sadly it won't be possible this year but if you want to support the centre whilst it can't put on events consider buying a ticket for the event that never happened. Plus we would love it if you shared a picture of your favourite memory from HCTS :) And next year, lets hope we can make it an extra big one!
