๐ We love to see our reading challenges in action and this image we received is perfect.
How many books have you crossed off your list? We'd love to see how many you've crossed off your list so far (children's, young adults or adults).
There is still time to start this challenge, complete your current sheet or collect a second (or third in some cases!).
Pick up a challenge card in your local library and youโre set to go! Read a book with the title or author that starts with your chosen letter and mark off on your sheet
Challenge open to December 2026. (Full or part completed challenge cards will be accepted into the prize draw).

Just a little reminder of our little community meeting this evening at Make Do and Mend Library on Laburnam Road.
We will be discussing events coming up and plans for the library and also Cllr Jade Lavan - Zetland Ward will be here to give us a short account about plans in the local area. We have also asked the local Po.ice Team to provide some details of things residents need to be aware of in the area.
Please note this meeting will finish at 7pm promptly.

So this happened on Tuesday. Children Activities all day at the Make Do and Mend Library on Laburnum road.
Using "scrap material" and donated goods we made "scrappy Decorations". No glue, no paint, a little help with scissors but we all need to practice.

Cake, tea, books and an introduction to The Second Chance Supper Club, what more could we ask for? ๐ฐ
Come and join us and enjoy an afternoon tea with Northumberland author, Caroline Roberts as she introduces The Second Chance Supper Club.
When Cath starts a supper club after her husbandโs betrayal the healing power of community allows Cath to believe in love and joy once again.
Caroline says the book was inspired by thinking about making a new start in mid-life and people coming together over great food.
So join Caroline for some great food and great conversation. Caroline will be in conversation with Laura Metcalfe ().
Afternoon tea is included in the price and will be served at the beginning of the โevent.

The cardigans and knitted baby items were received at First Steps.
We would like to give a great big thank you to Make Do and Mend Librarys, Close Knit, knitting group.
They have spent their time knitting cardigans to give out to babies who get referred into our project.
What a lovely, thoughtful gesture.
