This is your friendly reminder that the next meeting of Redhill Poets creative writing group is TOMORROW Tuesday 16 June.

If you have not come along to one of the group's previous sessions but would like to join in, you are very welcome to! Participation is FREE with no need to book in advance; just come to the library in time for 5.15pm and make yourself known to library staff, and we'll point you in the right direction.

Please note that this group is for adults only.

Thank you to everyone who came to our craft session this morning, making paper flowers out of retired library books with splashes of coloured paper. Our librarian was teaching techniques and everyone added their own creativity with fabulous results and a definitely summery vibe!😃

At out next coffee morning, the talk will be delivered by The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance Charity.

As usual, we do not take advance bookings, so please make sure to come to the library to secure your seat in good time for 10.30am, when the talk begins. Complimentary tea and coffee will be available.

Our coffee morning talks are FREE, but any donations towards our events are of course always welcome.

THIS TUESDAY, 9 June, Redhill Library is very excited to host an evening talk by John Hawks, Vice Chair of Wandle Heritage, Merton Priory Trust and the Wandle Industrial Museum, on the renowned William Morris.

William Morris was an English textile designer, poet, artist, writer, and socialist activist associated with the British Arts and Crafts movement, and a key figure in the revival of traditional British textile arts and production methods. This talk will be a general introduction to the man and his work with reference to his activities in Merton.

The talk is FREE with no booking needed; just turn up in time to be seated by 5.30pm, when the talk starts.
