Glorious way to spend a Sunday morning out with so many other volunteers for the Reigate Business Guild litter pick.

I spent an hour roaming the Castle Grounds, listening to The Archers and keeping myself busy with my litter picker.

Aldi – Reigate Aldi, the award-winning discount food retailer, is excited to announce plans for a new high-quality food store at the current site of The Range store, Rushworth Road, Reigate. The store is an existing retail unit, and therefore these proposals are not an addition of ‘new’ retail space.

This is a really important step to protect the character and vibrancy of our local high streets and communities. Great to see the Conservative administration take the lead on this, ensuring we had the evidence in place to get this right.

An order that removes the ability to automatically convert ground floor commercial premises - like shops, restaurants, banks and laundrettes - to residential properties in the borough’s towns and local centres has come into force today.

The Article 4 direction withdraws permitted development rights for such schemes, and a full planning application must now be made so that the Council can consider the impact of the proposals before any conversion can take place.

The aim is to protect shops and services and keep them open and serving their local communities.
