You land a 737-800NG at a large international airport with a 12,000 ft runway on a dry day. The aircraft is lightly loaded.
• Pilot selects autobrake level 1 before landing.
• Upon touchdown, the system applies brake pressure to achieve gentle deceleration (~2 ft/sec²).
• The hydraulic system (usually B) modulates pressure to each brake to maintain that rate.
• If the pilot applies manual brakes or moves the thrust levers, the autobrake system disengages automatically.

The Boeing 737-800NG (Next Generation) has System A and System B as part of its dual hydraulic system design, and this applies to other systems onboard as well. These two independent systems provide redundancy and reliability for critical flight and aircraft control operations.
