It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sallie Lockwood MBE. A true Club Legend and Selby Rugby Club Vice President, Sallie was known and loved throughout Yorkshire Rugby for her unwavering support and encouragement. “Get a grip, ref”, “Come on boys” and “Not straight” have been heard at Clubs throughout the County and will always be a reminder of one of our greatest supporters. We send our condolences, love and best wishes to Sallie’s family and friends at this very difficult time.

Sallie's funeral will be held at Selby Abbey on Monday 27 July 2026 at 11am, followed by the committal at Carlton cemetery and a reception at Carlton Towers.
