The Bean Rover
When I retired in 2014, I knew I wanted to do something, but wasn't sure what! Perhaps open a cafe, sell stationery and cakes! I’d never worked in a cafe before so enlisted the help of a friend and went to work in her cafe for two days a week. It soon helped me make up my mind that a cafe was not for me.
I loved the interaction with people, just not the fact you had to be reliable and turn up every day! I’d done that for 32 years, time for a change.
However I did get VERY interested in coffee and through the marvellous Tom Wilkinson, (who I think is now at Darkwoods roasters) I completed my barista training and started the journey of learning more about coffee.
It was one of those must have moments when I saw the advert on Gumtree for a great price and we bought it on April 1st 2015 (the date says it all!)
