Do you care for someone living with dementia?

The Herbert Protocol can help keep them safe if they ever go missing

The Herbert Protocol is a simple form that records key details such as a recent photo, description, medical information, medication, emergency contacts and familiar places. If the person goes missing, this information can be shared quickly with the police and emergency services so a search can begin as soon as possible.

Completing the form in advance can save precious time and reduce stress for families, friends and carers in an emergency. Please take a few minutes to fill one in, keep it somewhere safe and make sure it is kept up to date.

If someone living with dementia is missing, call 999 immediately.

Invisible identities: why the lack of national data on the lives of older LGBTQ+ people matters 03/07/2026

As we reflect on an incredible Pride Month in June, we wanted to share this data from Ageing Better. Between 2019 and 2024, the number of le***an, gay and bisexual people aged 50 and over in the UK is estimated to have increased by a third from 343,000 to 457,000.

The older LGBTQ+ population is set to grow at an even faster rate than the overall older population, as relatively larger cohorts of LGBTQ+ people in their 30s and 40s age.

Invisible identities: why the lack of national data on the lives of older LGBTQ+ people matters As June draws to a close, it also marks the end of the Pride Month celebration of the contributions of le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender and q***r culture and community.

✨ Making Space for What Matters Most ✨

Our Hospital to Home team is about so much more than practical support – it’s about building trust, dignity and confidence.

Andrea has been working alongside a lovely lady over the past few weeks following a referral for help with decluttering. What started as a daunting task has become a gentle, supportive process, with Andrea taking the time to build trust every step of the way.

Together, they carefully sort through belongings, with the lady deciding what she’s ready to let go of. Andrea then ensures items are responsibly taken to the tip or donated to local charity shops – giving them a new lease of life.

This isn’t just about creating a clear home space. It’s about helping to create a clearer mind, reducing stress, and supporting independence in a way that feels comfortable and empowering.

💙 A wonderful example of person-centered care in action
💙 Supporting wellbeing, one step at a time
