* Update *

Yesterday I was able to be discharged from what was probably 10 of my toughest days for many reasons. It really was an eye opener to say the least.

Emily was able to drive me home with my mum and dad in pursuit to get me home which was a big goal for me. I can’t thank my mum and dad enough. They did a 616 mile round trip all in one day, getting themselves home in the early hours of the morning.

In the morning I was presented with a new wheelchair thanks to Carrie-lee Coxon and Graham Coxon and in the afternoon even managed to get in to take a very short dog walk / spin which meant a lot to me. 🐶

As I’ve said in previous posts all the support I’ve received has meant the absolute world in keeping my spirits high at some horrible points in time. Advice from the likes of Ian Hutchinson and Nathan Harrison who have experienced their own much worse leg injuries themselves. And Rebecca Hornby who even set up a fund raising campaign which I’m incredibly grateful for as it’s an amazing initiative on her behalf.

Not to mention my wife Emily Perie has quite literally been everything and more. I’m mortified by what she’s had to do for me but not once has she complained or hesitated and I’m forever grateful for that.

I’m hoping I can see some really positive signs of improvement over the coming weeks and keep you all updated 🙂

The first official British Superbike test of the year didn’t quite go to plan.

In session one, an electrical gremlin meant we missed a large part of the session, but a huge thanks to the Factory Macadam Triumph team for working quickly to get me back out for a few laps at the end.

Session two started to feel much more positive, and I was beginning to gel with the new 765RS. Unfortunately, on my 5th or 6th lap, I had a highside going through Starkey’s Bridge (turn 5) — a fast left-hander taken flat out in 4th on a Supersport bike. It caught me completely by surprise.

Sadly, I didn’t separate cleanly from the bike and was struck multiple times, resulting in a broken tibia and fibula. To make things more complicated, the bones have also twisted, so the team at Derby Hospital are assessing the best course of action. The plan right now is surgery on Monday, with hopes of inserting a titanium rod, otherwise it may mean an external fixator.

I want to say a massive thank you to the circuit medical team, marshals, and everyone in the med centre for their incredible care and support. Also, apologies to the Factory Macadam Triumph team, and thank you to my amazing wife, mum, and dad for being there for me.

That’s all I know for now, I’ll keep you updated as things progress.

Now that I’ve had my first test on the Triumph which went fantastic. I can return my attention to organising Club 97+ ‼️

68/97 spaces have gone. So thank you to all that have joined pre season. T-shirt production is set to be completed this week. Then Club packs can start being sent out before the first offical bsb test early April, and I hope to see many of you there 😎
