Waterside Goju Ryu Karate

Over the last few months, six students have stepped up their training in order to qualify for their next belt. Three 1st Dan Black belts, Joseph Wallington, Charlie Williams, and Adam Bocock graded to Second dan black belt. One 1st Kyu Brown belt, Mark Williams graded to First dan black belt. And finally two 3rd Kyu Brown belts, Kelly and Ben Field graded to 2nd Kyu Brown belt. Gradings were collectively concluded at Applemore this week.
Congratulations to all six who have successfully achieved their new belts.
In addition, to free fighting, the grading was mainly focused on technical aspects of karate. Specifically kata and the application of techniques from kata.
All six students can be seen in the photo with sensei Ben and sensei Justin. As always the up hill struggle continues.

Completion of 3rd dan black belt and sensei grading of Luke Bentley. This following several weeks of grading, which included, leading a class and demonstrating a range of applications to a number of sensei. Very well done Luke for all the hard work leading up to this grading where proficient understanding of kata with application was exhibited. Luke, who is one of the more formidable club fighters, can be seen in the photo with sensei Justin, sensei Martin, sensei Ben, sensei Ali and other black belts of the Waterside club.
