Important changes are coming to how we regulate and protect Scotland’s environment.
From 1 November 2025, the regulation of water, waste management and industrial activities will move under the Environmental Authorisations (Scotland) Regulations 2018 (EASR).
If you or your business already have an authorisation, this change may affect you.
Most authorisations will move over automatically, but for some there will be a change to conditions, or you might need to apply for a new authorisation.
