A new student accommodation scheme has been given the go ahead in Leeds.

The new plans involve tearing down part of an already exiting building, then transforming it into 58 studio flats. The rooms will be situated across four floors and located on the junction at Cardigan Road. Furthermore, the building will include many amenities such as communal spaces, kitchens, lobby, and car park.

Funding has been secured for a PBSA student accommodation scheme in Edgbaston. The funding of £32.5m from the Paragon Bank's Development Finance division will be utilised to refinance the existing loan on the units at the site and start converting the first one to student accommodation.

The site is located on 12 Calthorpe Road, and of one of the two units will be converted into a 266-bed block with the other proposed at 145 beds. Work has commenced on the initial phase and should be completed by September 2026.

Plans have been submitted by MRP for a £80 million student accommodation accommodation scheme in Belfast. With its approval, the demolishment of buildings between Castle Street, Queen Street and Fountain Street would take place to build this new PBSA site, consisting of 895 units.
