"The EV charger grant? That ended years ago, mate." ❌ Wrong. 👇
It's the most common myth we hear — and it's costing people hundreds of pounds.
The truth: the government's EV Chargepoint Grant is very much alive. From 1 April 2026 the maximum grant increased from £350 to £500 per socket, and it's confirmed as funded until 31 March 2027. It covers 75% of the cost to buy and install a charger, up to that £500 cap.
Here's the catch most people miss: you can't use just any electrician. The work has to be done by an OZEV-approved installer — otherwise you get £0.

Quick eligibility note: the grant is aimed at renters, flat owners and landlords with off-street parking — standard homeowners with a driveway were phased out back in 2022. Landlords, though, can claim up to £500 per socket across multiple properties — a serious upgrade to your rental's appeal.
