Community Spotlight: Professor Miles Berry

One of the greatest strengths of the CAS community is the expertise that our members are willing to share.

Recently, Professor Miles Berry brought together a group of computing educators to develop a proposed set of requirements for a future GCSE in Computing. The aim was to offer constructive, evidence-informed advice to those responsible for drafting the new qualification and to ensure that the voices of classroom teachers were represented in the conversation.

This is a fantastic example of what happens when a professional community comes together to shape the future of computing education.

Thank you to Miles, and to everyone who contributed their time, expertise and experience to this important piece of work.

💬 Read more about the proposal and the collaborative process on the CAS Community forum, and join the conversation about the future of computing education.

Are you ready for AI Awareness Day on 4th June?

It’s less than a month until AI Awareness Day, where all schools are encouraged to commit to running just one activity that helps build AI literacy.

If you’re a primary school teacher looking for a way to get involved, then the Barefoot AI Explorers Live Lessons are a quick and easy way to introduce your pupils to AI in an age-appropriate way.

Join other schools from across the country as our Primary Subject Lead (and creator of AI Explorers), Ben Davies, brings the AI Explorers resources (created by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in collaboration with Ciena) to life. These interactive sessions will enhance your pupils' learning and inspire curiosity with engaging activities, expert guidance, and practical examples.
