The Ridgeway School and Sixth Form College

Some of you may recall the Hanson sisters, Valerie and Fiona, who lived in Ogbourne St Andrew, this is Fiona, in 1991, she worked as a press photographer for the Press Association, in London - seen here with the well known snapper John Downing of the Daily Express. I think she and her sister, Valerie, (who was feared by teachers) left Ridgeway before the 5th year in 1975. I used to bump into Fi on jobs regularly in London as I did the same type of work, but for newspapers not agencies. 😃

More sad news unfortunately, heard from Gill Coates that Phil Sumpter, Beverley's brother has passed away on Saturday. Phil was in the year above us and like Bev, wasn't that keen on Ridgeway school. The only photo I have of him is at his wedding. Also attending the wedding was Phil's good pal, Gus Thomas, who many of us also remember from Ridgeway School. No funeral details yet. RIP Phil
