☀️Hot weather update - 10/11/12 July ☀️

Temperatures are set to stay high this weekend, but we're working with Network Rail to ensure the vast majority of services run. Travel as normal and check your journey before you set out at www.gwr.com/check

There will be minor service changes in the Thames Valley during the hottest parts of the day affecting trains for Slough, Maidenhead and Twyford.

Services from Paddington to Didcot/Newbury will terminate at Reading, where customers can change for a connecting train. Direct trains to Oxford will be reduced.

If your booked train is cancelled, you may use your ticket to travel on the 2 services directly before, or the 2 services directly after at no extra cost.

If you're taking the train this weekend;

➡️Do not board the train if you feel unwell

It's going to get warmer this week, but we're expecting the impact on our services to be minimal and are advising customers to travel as normal.

Temperatures are currently forecast to be lower than during June's heatwave, but we are working with to keep a close eye on things and will let you know if our advice changes.

There will be some minor tweaks to local services in the Thames Valley and between Paddington and Didcot/Newbury, particularly at the hottest point in the day. Timetables will not be updated until the morning of travel so please check as close to your journey time as possible.
