👀👀 Updates for 2026 Home International Rowing competitions!

The Home International Rowing General Management Committee is pleased to announce several exciting changes coming to the Regatta and Beach Sprints for 2026:

- With both Home International Rowing events becoming an increasingly important part of the Olympic and Paralympic Pathway for Great Britain and Ireland, the Coxed Four will be replaced with a U23 Pair for the senior team and a “B” Pair for the junior team. This change allows all sweep rowers to double up into both the 2km and 500m Eights, ensuring every sweep rower competes in three races in total.

- For the 2026 Beach Sprints, we are excited to pilot an Inclusion Mixed Doubles event. This event features two rowers (one male, one female) competing in a mixed double, where one athlete is a PR3 para-rower. This event will be trialled in 2026 with the goal of including it in the team trophy points from 2027 onwards!

Scottish Rowing is thrilled to announce that Nairn Beach will host the 2026 Home International Beach Sprint Regatta (HIRBS)

This annual event brings together teams from the home nations and Jersey for a fast‑paced, adrenaline‑filled day of coastal rowing - all to crown the 2026 Home Nations Champions 🏆

With Nairn recognised as a GB Coastal Sculling Academy, its stunning coastline offers the perfect setting for this prestigious event.

We can’t wait to welcome athletes, teams, and supporters to the sand later this year!
