💜 As women age, the quantity and quality of their eggs decrease, affecting their fertility. While a newborn girl can have an ovarian reserve of around 1-2 million, this continues to deplete until menopause. The rate of decline in ovarian reserve becomes particularly noticeable after the age of 37.

Landing in 🇺🇸 with the support of and to bring to the hands of healthcare professionals and continue our mission of making complex care, simple and bring 1 Million babies into the World.

The first couple of days in Silicon Valley at the PnP Summit was inspiring, seeing over 4000 innovators and investors in one place. From robots that walk and talk, to others that fold our clothes, to discussions about what the future to tech and agentic AI will look like.

And now we continue our journey in Orlando where got to share our work at the PnP Innovation Lounge, Women’s Health edition.
It was so good to meet others working in this space, connect with fellow healthcare professionals turned entrepreneurs and I’m feeling so excited for the next few days where we will go deeper into the market and test our EnhancedDx solution with professionals and patients.

After a few days, we’re adjusting to the time difference, less jet lag and so grateful the team is in Europe to keep things running 🙏

👩‍⚕️ “Egg donation is not about giving up on motherhood. It is about understanding the medical
reality of each case and choosing the path that offers the best chance of a healthy pregnancy.” ~Dr Laura Rodríguez, fertility expert and gynaecologist at

When is egg donation usually considered?

💜 1. Low ovarian reserve: when quantity becomes part of the decision

The ovarian reserve is the number of eggs that is used to determine fertility. The ovarian reserve gives an indication of how the ovaries may respond to stimulation and how many eggs might be available during treatment.

A low ovarian reserve does not always mean pregnancy is impossible with your own eggs. But it can mean that the number of eggs collected in an IVF cycle may be very limited.

🪺 2. Poor egg quality

Poor egg quality can show itself in different ways: low fertilisation rates, slow embryo development, poor-quality embryos, no embryos suitable for transfer, repeated implantation failure or miscarriage.

👩‍👩‍👧 3. Egg donation is relevant for all women, not only heterosexual couples

Single women and le***an couples often begin their fertility journey thinking primarily about donor s***m. This is understandable. If there is no male partner, s***m donation is usually the first practical need that comes to mind. However, female fertility still needs to be assessed in the same way.

A single woman may need donor s***m, but she may also have low ovarian reserve.

🇪🇸 Why consider Vida Fertility?

Vida Fertility follows a boutique clinic model, which means patients are not treated as a number in a large system. The experience is personal, medically rigorous and emotionally supportive.

The clinic also places strong importance on donor selection, laboratory quality, embryo development and personalised preparation for embryo transfer. Every detail matters because every patient arrives with her own story.
