Today is National Skilled Trades Day. 👷🛠️⚡️⚙️🧱
We thought we'd take the opportunity to highlight the importance of skilled trades to the UK economy.
We have a skills shortage and the figures are stark!
⚒️35% of the UK construction and trades workforce is over 50
👷♀️244,000 qualified apprentices need to enter the workforce by 2032 to close the skills gap.
We need to encourage more young people to pursue careers in skilled trades such as bricklaying, carpentry, engineering, electrical work, and all aspects of construction.
Our skilled tradespeople keep the UK moving and working!
Let's celebrate our skilled tradespeople! And encourage more young people to seriously think about careers in these areas!
