Belfrey Impact Project

Part of the joy of being in the construction phase is getting to see some of the details of St Michael le Belfrey that aren’t usually accessible!

Thanks to the internal scaffolding, here’s one of the angels that reside above the arches.

He’s holding a pair of overlapping keys, representative of Saint Peter and the keys to heaven that Jesus gave him - possibly a twin reference to our location right next to York Minster AKA “The Cathedral and Metropolitical Church of Saint Peter in York”.

We’re loving opening the De Grey Rooms today for the people of York to look around, as part of Residents Weekend. And what perfect weather to show off the chandeliers!
