▶️ The foundations of our roles have never changed too much.

Primarily we must demonstrate the ability to deliver safe practice and to be in control, as much as is necessary when necessary, to facilitate our pupils development.

We need to use our eyes well to spot danger and development. We need to use our sense of feel and intuition to see when things are going right, or wrong. And our mouths to keep the car safe and to facilitate learning.

If we do those things well against the backdrop of a lesson that the pupil ‘needs’ then we are proving that we are value for money.

There are lots of ways that we can develop knowledge and understanding further and against the higher levels of the GDE…But the fundamentals required to pass a part 3 or SC. To address the lower levels of the GDE effectively haven’t changed too much.

Encouraging evaluation from the pupil is the biggest shift. Because the pupils ability to identify fault, analyse fault and remedy fault…for themselves are key skills for new drivers.

Our courses primarily address what is necessary to develop drivers in the lower levels of the GDE Matrix effectively. Whilst also taking your development further into how to address the higher levels of the GDE to truly create safer drivers.
