The director who amazed the world with his pioneering techniques and provoked censorship in his native country. Drawing inspiration from Gothic literature in The Castle of Otranto (1979) and The Fall of the House of Usher (1980). Satirically critiquing consumerism (Meat Love (1988), The Food (1992)) and totalitarianism (The Death of Stalinism in Bohemia (1990)). His distinctive use of puppet animation, stop-motion, dark humor, and psychoanalysis has marked his success for nearly 50 years.

The screening features films ranging from 10 to 30 minutes (don’t worry if you’re late!), shot between 1979 and 1992 (before the collapse of Czechoslovakia). Total running time: 2 hours.

The 3rd reading of unpublished novel Bohemia of the Runaways is coming!

A story about the main character — the Narrator, and his bohemian life in the brutal reality of late 2010s Russia, and in emigration. Exploring themes of s*x, drugs, crimes, art and political activism, the book's central theme revolves around transgression, as each character confronts and overcomes different boundaries.
(Chapter 1 The Kingisepp Incident tells us about a crossing the borders literally: the hero tries to illegally escape to Europe, comes face to face with danger and undergoes a unique spiritual experience.
The second chapter Hi**er, Bro, Shoegazer cover the death of a cherished animal character and the personal life twists of the heroes.)

The 3 chapter Hermitage (Images) consists of short sketches from the everyday lives of the characters. It reflects the chaos of their lifestyle and delves into fragmented narratives, capturing the essence of life in St. Petersburg. This chapter is unique in its structure, or rather its lack of structure, symbolizing the disarray and unpredictability of the characters' experiences, painting a vivid picture of their anarchic existence.

Incomparable will lead the reading. will play a live soundtrack for a more atmospheric experience. The event will take place in
