This *taxta* was living a quiet, rather forgotten life in a Vake apartment. It was neither beautiful nor comfortable. The opening mechanism had been broken for years, the upholstery looked tired and very much from the grey Soviet era… In short, it was simply not a piece anyone was excited about.

While we were not able to repair or replace the mechanism, we decided to take care of everything else. First, we added proper springs to make it comfortable to sit and rest. Then we chose a vibrant fabric with a pattern inspired by traditional Georgian motifs. And finally, we added powder coated side supports and round pillows — *mutaka* — to give the piece a bit of character and style.

What used to be a sad and overlooked piece of furniture is now a comfortable, lively daybed — ready for a much better second chapter.

This week, every day until Friday, I’ll be sharing one piece that will be featured at our pop-up shop. Have a look — you might spot something that fits perfectly into your interior even before the shop pops up.

Some furniture pieces need a “curing period.”

I find them, bring them to the workshop, and at first I do not really know what their final look should be. I usually understand what they need in terms of restoration, but the color, fabric, or finish are not always immediately clear.

So they wait quietly in a corner of the workshop until, one day, something finally clicks.

For these armchairs, it was the fabric.

I saw it in my favorite fabric shop and immediately fell in love. The pattern, the colors, and the texture are simply gorgeous — and they work beautifully with the clean lines of the armchairs

These two armchairs were sitting at our neighbor’s place — ugly, broken and pretty much useless. She decided to get rid of them and, as they say, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure — so I grabbed them.
They were sold before we even had a chance to take proper photos.

The client asked to make the wood darker, and of course we did. So if you like one of our pieces but the wood color is not quite right for your interior, it can be changed.
