12’ vinyl to be expected in Summer 2026. (distributed worldwide by Kudos)

Mother on Mondays was born in 1992 from a chance backstage meeting between members of two different bands at a “New Music Festival". The band’s name came from their love of Frank Zappa’s “The Mothers of Invention,” but musically their main influences were 80’s British post/punk and synth-pop sounds.

Original band members were: George Dzodzuashvili (bass, vocals); George Alexander Delon aka Goglik (vocals); Levan Javakhishvili (guitar); Dato Chkhikvishvili (guitar) and Vazha Bekauri (drums).

Their debut album "Clear and Cold" was recorded in 1993 over a single week at the historic Studio "Melodiya". With its unbridled, subversive energy and unconventional sound, the album challenged the era's mainstream and struck a chord with a restless youth.

Following the album's release and a tour through Moscow and St. Petersburg, original members Dato and Vazha left the band. The remaining trio - Goglik, Gogi and Levan pivoted their sound by utilizing synthesizers to fill the musical void. This shift marked one of the earliest integrations of electronic music within the Georgian alternative scene.
From this transition, the band's second album "Friends" emerged. While "Clear and Cold" leaned toward post-punk and indie rock, Friends is what truly solidified their reputation as electronic indie pop pioneers.

Big Release Day is Here!
"Kookooland" by If Strangers is out.

If Strangers, a concept developed by Nika Machaidze and Natalie Beridze, is a space where artists from diverse backgrounds and at different stages of their musical journey come together with the aim of creating an album together. Some of the pairings would be unlikely to ever happen outside of such a unified context.

Compiled of 21 tracks the energy encapsulated in Kookooland is hard to pin down with easy categorizations, as electronic textures, vocals and acoustic instruments are deftly interwoven. In Kookooland, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The artists here have produced something multifaceted and captivating, transcending each individual's artistry.

"If strangers" 2026 collective (4th edition) has 11 members, in no particular order they are: Natalie Beridze; Nikakoi; Eld Less; Solo Tsitsuashvili; Mariam Galogre; Denivarlevy; Sadrah; Lilé; Fotgjengeren; Rasseterya; Spilled Ambiences.
