🏆 Champions of the 80th Anniversary!
What an incredible finish to a historic day. A massive congratulations to some familiar faces in Rick Weston and Nat Whitty, our first male and female finishers in the 2026 Source Recruitment Liberation 7, both who are past winners! 🇬🇬
In a year where we celebrate eight decades of this iconic race, both athletes conquered the conditions with style:
Rick Weston: Crossed the line with a fantastic time of 37:50.
Nat Whitty: Led the women home with an impressive 42:27.

While we celebrate our winners, this race is a victory for the entire island. We want to extend a huge thank you to Guernsey Athletics for their tireless work in keeping this storied tradition thriving for another year.
To the incredible volunteers and every single runner who crossed that finish line, you are what makes Liberation Day so special. You've officially written your names into the 80-year history of Guernsey’s oldest race.

There is nothing quite like the atmosphere at Rousse on Liberation Day. 🇬🇬
The 80th anniversary of the Source Recruitment Liberation 7 is under way. This isn't just the start of a race, t’s the continuation of a tradition that began in 1946. Seeing hundreds of runners head out across the coast to celebrate our island’s freedom is a moment that never gets old.
🏃♂️ 7 Miles of History
From the first steps here at Rousse to the finish line on the town seafront, these runners are following in the footsteps of legends like Dave Kreckeler, who set the long-standing record of 34:39 over sixty years ago.
As proud sponsors, we are thrilled to see so many familiar faces and new runners taking part in this milestone year. Whether you’re running for a personal best or just for the sheer joy of the day, you are now part of Guernsey's oldest running legacy.
