Captured in the master plan of Akuapem Ridge Eco-city is trails for nordic walking activities. Citizens and visitors of the ridge can enjoy nordic walking for fun, health, recreation and networking.

This weekend the visioneer and chief labourer of Aridcorp Frederick Attah Agyei was certified as a Nordic Walking Instructor after weeks of training in Sydney.

He is expected to train the indigenous youth on the ridge in nordic walking who will in turn offer this training to citizens and visitors of the ridge that would like to take advantage of this novel fitness activities.

Nordic Walking is a form of fitness walking using specially designed poles and a learned technique, resulting in a low impact, high results, and total body fitness that increases cardio fitness, burns more calories and activates 90% of muscles.

Nordic Walking can be performed by anyone, anywhere, at any time, is affordable and most importantly lots of fun! It is perfectly suited to Ghana's climate and can be performed on any terrain -- from sandy beaches, park trails and grassy fields to urban.
