Learning how to spot misinformation doesn’t have to be boring.
During a special session at the launch of the Ghana Anti-Disinformation Coalition (GADC), participants were introduced to TruthQuest, a scenario-based digital learning game by Penplusbytes that builds media literacy and critical thinking through real-life situations.

Two students from each school stepped forward, took on the challenge, and played the game, live-testing their ability to identify false information, verify content, and think critically in real time.
It was a practical reminder that the fight against disinformation starts with the ability to question, verify, and understand the information we engage with every day.

Participants who took part were rewarded with Penplusbytes-branded items, celebrating not just participation but the willingness to learn and lead.

From interactive tools like TruthQuest to national efforts like the Ghana Anti-Disinformation Coalition, we are building a generation that is not just online but informed. The TruthQuest Game is built by Penplusbytes with support from Impact Amplifier under its Africa Online Safety Fund.

What does it take to build a national response to disinformation?
At the launch session of the Ghana Anti-Disinformation Coalition (GADC), conversations moved beyond theory to action.
Stakeholders discussed the realities of misinformation across communities, the role of local languages and grassroots engagement, how technology, including AI tools, can support fact-checking efforts and the need for stronger collaboration across sectors
The message was clear: no single group can tackle disinformation alone.
The coalition creates a space where expertise, experience, and innovation can come together to drive real impact.
