As a filmmaker, I was invited to capture the vibrant Freedom Parade festival at Nkyinkyim Museum in 2022. Initially, it was just another project, but something unexpected happened. The moment I stepped into the museum's walls, I felt an inexplicable connection to the space and its rich cultural heritage. The rhythms, the trees, the wind, and the stories seemed to resonate deep within me.

A voice echoed in my heart, whispering,'This is home.' It was my own voice, yet it felt like a revelation from a deeper part of myself. Over the next year, I grappled with this newfound sense of belonging. It wasn't until I fully surrendered to the call that I found my true purpose.

Today, I'm honoured to be part of the Nkyinkyim Museum team as an artist and educator.All thanks to my mentor, my father and teacher Kwame Akoto Bamfo, founder and CEO of Nkyinkyim Museum, for making the place a safe heaven for us all.

Every day, I'm on a journey to share the beauty and significance of African culture and heritage with others. It's a privilege to help break down misconceptions and stereotypes and to showcase the richness and diversity of our heritage.

Nkyinkyim Museum is more than just a place – it's a hub for cultural exchange, education, and empowerment. I'm grateful to be a part of this journey, and I invite you to experience it for yourself.
