COMMENTARY
If you listen to yourself, your conscience will tell you something-- wrong or good. When God spoke to Jonah to go and preach in the city of Nineveh, he refused and digressed, but on his way he experienced boisterous wind as a result of his insubordination to God.
When things started going wayward, he started judging himself and said " pick me up and throw me into the sea so it may quiet down for you, for I know that I am to blame for this violent Storm that is against you".
Jonah went through this ordeal because of his dereliction of duty as a prophet. When God instructs you, be careful that you do not negate it else it may be disastrous for you.
Whatever you are entrusted to do is for a purpose. Nobody can attribute what happened to Jonah as generational curse. No.It is rather because of his own iniquities. Service to God is Paramount and you are bound to render it no matter your status. Jonah was forced and was transported to the very city he was avoiding and was finally regurgitated onto the shore of Nineveh by the fish and there, he relearned how to pray because whilst in the belly of the fish he updated his prayer points. " Do not remain in the belly of your problems ". Interestingly, when a second voice came from God to Jonah, he quickly disseminated it to the kings and queens in the city of Nineveh and they all put on sackcloth.
Repent and listen to the command of God.Listen to yourself or you will be destroyed beyond redemption.
Don't abandon the service of God for;
1. It breaks you through
2. It speaks on your behalf
3. It saves you from danger
