The Northern Regional Election Joint Operation Centre, having been activated once again, convened a pre-deployment briefing ahead of the National Democratic Congress's primary for the Tamale Central Constituency yesterday at the Oppong Boanuh Conference Hall at the Northern Regional Police Headquarters here in Tamale.

Under the leadership of the Ghana Police Service, the upcoming primary is expected to have a total deployment of 400 men and women drawn from the Police, Fire, Immigration, and Prisons Services as well as the Armed Forces.

The briefing had the presence of the media who took turns to seek clarity on the public's concerns as had been witnessed in past similar exercises. All fears and doubts were alleviated accordingly as they were assured of access and protection as well as a peaceful, free, and fair election on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

This primary is being conducted in the wake of the death of the member of Parliament for the Constituency on the 6th of August in the tragic military helicopter crash.
