Hadith 1️⃣2️⃣ An-Nawawi

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) who said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Part of the perfection of one’s Islam is his leaving that which does not concern him.” A hasan (good) hadeeth which was related by at-Tirmidhi and others in this fashion.
Hadith 12, 40 Hadith an-Nawawi

Fiqh Benefits of the Hadith

“Part of the perfection of one’s Islam is leaving that which does not concern him.”
1. Islam is perfected by actions of the heart

This hadith shows that good character is part of completing your Islam — not just praying and fasting.

2. Avoiding useless things is an act of worship

Leaving:
• gossip
• drama
• arguments
• spying
• unnecessary talks
• social media nonsense
…is actually an ‘ibādah. You get rewarded for staying away.

3. Protects a person from sin

Most sins come from:
• the tongue,
• the eyes,
• and social interactions.

If you leave what doesn’t concern you, you automatically avoid:
• backbiting
• slander
• mocking
• suspicion
• exposing others
• haram relationships

4. Helps with time management

Wasting time kills the heart.
This hadith teaches you to focus on what benefits your dunya and your ākhirah.

5. Improves relationships

When you stop involving yourself in people’s private matters:
• there’s less conflict
• less misunderstanding
• more respect
