Candidate graduates of our Solar Advanced Professional course, students visited the Bui hydroelectric and solar plant from July 7th to 8th, 2024, about 476 km from Accra. This plant on the Black Volta River, Ghana's second-largest hydroelectric facility completed in 2013, boosts 5MW solar power into the national grid.
The tour included insights into dam construction, power generation, and integration into the grid, highlighting Ghana's renewable energy potential.

We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of the third-round Advanced professional solar training at Don Bosco Solar centre Ghana.
Twenty-one graduates, including two females and 19 males have successfully completed a six-month Solar Advanced Professionals course being the third batch at the Don Bosco Technical Institute, Tema under its Solar Department.
A collaborative effort between the delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana (AHK), Don Bosco Technical Institute, Jakob-Christian Adam Foundation, and the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI),
The aim of the initiative is to skill the youth in photovoltaic solar technology to earn a livelihood, and assist meet the growing energy requirements of the country.
After completion of the course, trainees receive internationally recognised certificates from both Don Bosco and Delegation of German industry and Commerce in Ghana-AHK. They are certified to carry out solar PV installations up to 300KWp; design and commissioning of solar installations, inspect, test and troubleshot faulty PV installations, etc.
