Honouring the legacy of John Diaz.
Prostate Cancer Gibraltar was proud to attend the unveiling of a commemorative plaque at St Bernard’s Hospital in memory of John Diaz, founder member and former Chairman of the Prostate Cancer Support Group, the precursor of Prostate Cancer Gibraltar.
The plaque was unveiled by the Hon Gemma Arias-Vasquez, Minister for Health and Care, outside the Urology Clinic, in the presence of John’s family, members and trustees of Prostate Cancer Gibraltar, and representatives of the Gibraltar Health Authority.
John Diaz worked tirelessly to raise awareness of prostate cancer in Gibraltar and helped change the way our community speaks about men’s health, early detection and PSA testing.
In their final will and testament, John and his late wife Evelyn also donated £20,000 to Prostate Cancer Gibraltar. This generous legacy will continue to support projects aimed at improving services for patients in Gibraltar.
We are deeply grateful to the Diaz family and proud to continue John’s mission.
Early detection saves lives.
