Banjul has done it again!
For the third time, Banjul has qualified for the Bloomberg Philanthropies Youth Climate Action Fund, following two successful rounds of youth-led climate action projects.
This is a proud moment for our city and a powerful recognition of what young people can achieve when given the platform, trust, and support to lead.
All Climate Youth Leaders and interested young people are encouraged to follow the official social media pages of Banjul City Council, REFELA The Gambia and Lord Mayor Rohey Malick Lowe for updates on the next phase of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Youth Climate Action Fund.
Important announcements, application details, deadlines, engagement sessions, and project updates will be shared through these platforms.
This is Banjul’s third qualification for the Youth Climate Action Fund, and we look forward to another exciting phase of youth-led climate innovation, community action, and citywide impact.

As part of our commitment, water is viewed not just as a basic need but as the foundation of life, dignity and sustainable development in our communities.
Water is life because it sustains our health, supports agriculture, enables sanitation and empowers women and families. In many Gambian communities, women and children often travel long distances to fetch water which affects education, productivity and wellbeing. Ensuring reliable access to clean water therefore means improving health, reducing poverty, strengthening food security and creating opportunities for communities to thrive.
