Trevor Paglen’s performance-lecture The Lizard People are Here! at the Guggenheim with Noam Segal, LG Electronics Associate Curator, invites audiences to consider whether we are entering a new age of invisible architectures and algorithmic systems that shape perception, knowledge, and power. Bringing together psyops, artificial intelligence, magic, mind control, UFOs, and more, the program examines historical precedents for the manipulation of human perception at a moment when artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly pervasive.
The performance will be followed by a conversation between Paglen and Noam Segal, LG Electronics Associate Curator, reflecting on how rapid developments in artificial intelligence are reshaping everyday life, modes of thought, and artistic practice.
